Fairmont Jakarta Presents “When Jakarta Meets Korea” with Stellar Line-up of Events for The Senses

Fairmont Jakarta is thrilled to announce the return of its annual signature event series, “When Jakarta Meets,” with a focus on Korea this year. From 18 to 24 September 2023, food lovers can indulge in four signature dining experiences helmed by Korea’s most acclaimed chefs. The line-up includes a Two Michelin-starred Chef from Soigne in Seoul, award-winning Bartender, Demie Kim of Zest Bar, who is ranked No.5 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars, and esteemed chefs from Fairmont Ambassador Seoul.

 

 

From fine-dining dinner at VIEW Steak Bar, Korean-inspired Afternoon Tea at Peacock Lounge, to a special takeover at BAR ON G and Korean food festival at Spectrum’s famous buffet – there is plenty for all to explore. This year’s When Jakarta Meets Korea is selected to celebrate the 50th anniversary of bilateral relationship between Indonesia and South Korea, and also to embrace the growing enthusiasm for Korean culture in Jakarta.

Korean Gastronomic Dinner by Soigné – 2 Michelin Stars

Fairmont Jakarta’s restaurant, VIEW will present a Korean Gastronomic Dinner by Chef Jun Lee of Soigné Restaurant, a 2-star Michelin Restaurant in Seoul. Chef Jun Lee’s cooking style reflects his vast international experiences by infusing American and European technique and flavour into the structure of Korean cuisine. One of the highlighted dishes is the Seorae Escargot that blends in the unique flavours of the East and the West, while at the same time introducing the familiar taste of a Korean dish. This particular dish has been on Soigné’s menu for 9 years.

During his time at Fairmont Jakarta, guest can experience a 9-course degustation menu featuring delicacies such as Lobster with Bamboo Shoot, Sesame Oil, Perilla Seed Milk and Scallion Shoot; Abalone with Seaweed Beurre Blanc; Cognac Steamed Stuffed Chicken Breast as well as Charcoal Grilled Beef Sirloin, amongst others.

This exclusive dinner is available from 21 to 23 September 2023, at IDR 3,000,000++ per person.

 

Bar Takeover by ZEST – No.5 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars

Award-winning mixologist Demie Kim of ZEST, is set to raise the bar at BAR ON G with an exclusive bar takeover. Rising a staggering 43 positions from last year’s ranking, Zest is both the winner of the Nikka Highest Climber Award and The Best Bar in Korea. Demie Kim and his team redefine cocktails through sustainable practices, minimizing waste and showcasing seasonal ingredients from Korea.

Channeling a greener and more sustainable bar experience, cocktail aficionados can enjoy four standout signature creations by ZEST from 21 to 23 September 2023.

The cocktail flights are available at IDR 750,000++ and include four cocktails and canapes

Free-flow package also available at IDR 950,000++.

 

Seoul-ful Afternoon Tea by Soigné – 2 Michelin Stars

Fairmont Jakarta also invites guests for its Korean-inspired Afternoon Tea at Peacock Lounge which will be available every day from 18 – 24 September 2023. Ji Hyang Jung, the pastry chef at Soigné, a 2 Michelin-starred restaurant in Seoul, brings her exceptional talents to the Peacock Lounge, where she creates an exclusive and unforgettable pastry for the afternoon tea experience.

Seoul-ful Afternoon Tea priced at IDR 588,000++ per set, inclusive of two beverages of coffee or tea.

 

Korean Food Festival by Fairmont Seoul

Meanwhile, Korean food aficionados can enjoy an extensive menu selection at the hotel’s lively international buffet restaurant, Spectrum. Guests can explore iconic menus capturing the essence of Korea, specially created by Chef Ted Song of the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul. On Sunday Brunch, all the guest chefs, including the Michelin-starred chef, pastry chef, and mixologist from Zest, will come together to create a spectacular culinary experience. The dining experience includes staff in Hanbok or national Korean costume, and an eclectic playlist of both traditional and modern Korean music.
